Sista Speak

Our first Sista Speak for the year was most successful. The girls from both Balmain and Leichhardt united and respected each other. We started the day on a cultural walk around the beautiful foreshore where they learnt about the powerful Cameragal woman Barangaroo.

Afterwards we were welcomed by Sydney Story Factory who paired the girls up with mentors where they began to write poems on the NAIDOC theme,"Because of her I can". In the following session, next term, we will record the poems which will be the soundtrack to a short film which we would like to present at the NAIDOC assembly.
