On Tuesday a group of about 20 girls participated in the Girls Get Active day. It was an event organised by the Inner West Council to encourage young girls to get involved in sport. While we were there we had the opportunity to meet professional athletes that compete in Soccer, AFL, Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee. They gave speeches about themselves and their involvement in sport.
We were then separated into groups to participate in different activities including Yoga, Soccer, AFL and Ultimate Frisbee. We had so much fun and learnt so much about the different female athletes and about how sport is so important to stay healthy and to never give up. We got to play sport with our friends and built stronger relationships with others, as we learnt and tried the different sports. We learnt good sportsmanship, how to work as a part of a team, and supporting and looking out for our team mates. Overall it was an awesome day and I look forward to doing it again next year. Thanks to Ms Tricase and Ms Jones for organising the event.
