Students are required to wear full school uniform. The dress code is fully supported by all staff and the Parents & Citizens' Association and official uniform items with the SSC Balmain Campus logo are available from the school uniform shop.

If a student is out of uniform, a note from home must be given to their Year Adviser or Deputy Principal so they can be given a pink uniform pass, before school.
The uniform shop is open on Thursdays from 1.30pm-2.30pm and only for pre ordered uniforms that have been ordered through Pickles school wear either online or in person at the Marrickville retail outlet. The uniforms can be collected from the office during this time slot.

If you are experiencing any financial difficulties, please contact the School on 02 9810 0471 so that school uniform can be purchased through Student Assistance Funds. This will be treated in a confidential manner at all times.
In 2019, Sydney Secondary College, Balmain Campus introduced a new school uniform. This school uniform will identify our students as belonging to our campus and will promote a sense of inclusivity, non-discrimination and equal opportunity.
The new uniform has been designed in collaboration with students, parents and teachers with comfort, affordability, ease of wear and care in mind.
School Uniform
The new uniform consists of -
Comfortable and breathable white button up shirt and blouse with embroidered Sydney Secondary College, Balmain campus logo.
A white polo with navy collar trim and embroidered Sydney Secondary College, Balmain campus logo.
There will be charcoal tailored short and pant options in both male and female fits, along with a pleated skirt option.
For cooler weather, students will have the option of a navy fleece V neck jumper or microfiber zip jacket with polar fleece lining.
A range of accessories will also be available including navy hats, ties scarves and aprons.
This school uniform will apply to all students during school hours, while travelling to and from school and when students are on school excursions. White socks or black stockings are to be worn.
Acceptable school shoes to wear on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are black leather (or suitable safe alternative), laced, secure amd enclosed upper foot protection.
Unacceptable shoes: smooth sole with no grip, the majority of the upper foot is unsecured, thin soft leather offering little protection, canvas upper sole, white or coloured sole with white or coloured logos, whole shoe white/coloured.
Sports Uniform
The Sydney Secondary College, Balmain Campus sports uniform is to be worn by students on sport day and during practical PE lessons. The new sports uniform will consist of –
A unisex two-tone sports polo in lightweight sport fabric with SSCBC logo
Navy sports shorts in both male and female fits with SSCBC logo
A unisex two-tone microfiber tracksuit jacket with jersey lining and SSC Balmain logo
A unisex navy microfiber tracksuit pant with SSCBC logo
Acceptable sports shoes for Tuesdays and PDHPE/SPORT lessons are lace up (no slip ons), cover all of the top of the foot, provide arch support, ankle support and sole protection.

While the new school uniform is being introduced, Year 10 students 2021 will still be wearing the old school uniform while it still fits them. When replacement items need to be bought, old uniform items will be replaced with items from the new school uniform range. For students still wearing the old school uniform the following expectations apply:
